Brand Identity: Young Dems Lake County
Young Democrats is a nationwide youth-led political organization for people under the age of 36. The Lake County Illinois chapter of the Young Democrats, Young Dems Lake County, launched in July 2020. The group chose to shorten the name to “Young Dems” as it is more casual and often what people call it in real life.

Logo design & color palette
This bold look stands out among the sea of logos from other political organizations.
The rounded and retro-inspired letterforms of the wordmark create a youthful but still modern feel.
The color palette allows for flexibility and expands further on the classic red, white, and blue of American political design. A softer red and a cream instead of white compliment the bold blue of the primary color palette.
Website
It was important for the website to be easy to read and navigate, but still have some fun elements such as the illustrative styling of the board portraits.
Extending the look and feel to social media
A quote from President Barack Obama floats across the banner of the Facebook page, and the textured line element of that image is also reflected in the board announcement post. The secondary color palette is also utilized in the board image to express the individuality of each person.
