Rule29 Christmas Cards

Each year, Rule29 sends a Christmas card to clients as a thank you. The 2015 theme was "be present," which was meant to encourage recipients to spend time in the moment during the holiday season.

Featured in the How Design article, “Promotion Design Mailbag: 8 Fun Projects” in February 2016.

Deliverables: Illustrative typography, design | "Be present" and the card within a card concept was created by Edwin Carter and Justin Ahrens.

Typography

Inspired by illuminated letters and whimsical historical calligraphy.

The central message, “Be Present,” was hand-drawn and then digitized.

A list of “Be Present Best Practices” on the back of the card’s envelope is a nod to business “best practices” but with a focus on how the recipient and can be present in their daily lives. Each item has a box so they can be checked off as they are completed during the holiday season.
