NASA’s Chief Artificial Intelligence and Data Officer Logos

NASA appointed its first Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) in 2024, he also serves as the agency’s Chief Data Officer. Because of this, the CAIO/CDO wanted two logos that could be used separately or together in a variety of applications.

Skills: Brand Design

Both logos use the same color scheme and type design to unify them. The CAIO/CDO wanted a soft color scheme that harkened to the classic NASA blue.

In the CAIO logo, data points moving from the left slowly materialize into a gear, which represents how data powers artificial intelligence products.

In the CDO logo, squares come together to form lines as if they are points of data on a graph. They are arranged in a forward moving arrow to show progress across time. Their shape mimics the letter d and the squares call back to the CAIO logo.
